Walkthrough

This is the level 59 quest involving Arios the Battered. Players must have completed Arios the Battered 57 before beginning this quest. This quest continues the conflict against Sarek the Betrayer, the Anvil of Sarek, and the forces tied to Geomancer's Citadel.

Requirements

Players must complete Arios the Battered 57 before beginning this quest.

Players should also still have the weapon repaired during Arios the Battered 55, as it is used to debuff the Anvil of Sarek.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Speak with Arios the Battered

Speak with Arios the Battered near the bridge south of Forkwatch.

He sends you to recover two key halves from Terran Caretaker mobs.

One Terran Caretaker can be found in Geomancer's Pass (N), near the pass bridge by the Anvil of Sarek.

The other Terran Caretaker roams through Elemental Towers (SW) or Elemental Towers (W).

Defeat both Terran Caretaker mobs, loot the key halves, and return to Arios the Battered.

Step 2: Approach the Anvil of Sarek

Arios the Battered sends you to approach the Anvil of Sarek in Geomancer's Pass (N).

Approach slowly until you receive a pop-up. Choose one of the dialogue options to advance the quest.

After receiving the update, return to Arios the Battered.

Step 3: Find Informant Liarah

Arios the Battered sends you to Cape Dreg to find Informant Liarah.

Make sure the key is in your inventory before searching for her.

Bring 20,000 Tunar to advance the quest.

Informant Liarah spawns for short periods of time on the small islands in Cape Dreg. She has been found in Cape Dreg (E), on the two islands north of the pirate ship. She has also been found on the island where Cedric is located.

Killing enemies on the nearby islands may help reset the spawns and give Informant Liarah another chance to appear.

Important: Click through her dialogue quickly. If she despawns before the conversation is finished, the quest may not advance.

Step 4: Recover the Three Lost Pages

Informant Liarah tells you to recover three lost pages.

The required pages are:

• Discarded Page #176 from Kejekan mobs in Stonebrunt Mountains (C).
• Discarded Page #112 from Kerran mobs on Kerra Isle.
• Discarded Page #201 from an Obsidian Assassin in Geomancer's Citadel.

The Obsidian Assassin usually spawns on the western side of Geomancer's Citadel.

Collect all three pages and return to Arios the Battered.

Step 5: Defeat the Anvil of Sarek

Arios the Battered sends you to defeat the Anvil of Sarek.

Bring the weapon repaired during Arios the Battered 55 to debuff him. Different versions of the weapon may apply different debuffs, so it is useful to have a healer, caster, tank, and melee version available if possible.

At first, the Anvil of Sarek may be unattackable. The questor must approach and interact with him to begin the text sequence.

The questor may be hit by a very large bolt during this process. If this happens, resurrect back while invisible and move out of range when possible. Continue the sequence until the Anvil of Sarek becomes attackable.

Defeat the Anvil of Sarek. When he dies, the questor receives a pop-up that advances the quest.

Return to Arios the Battered.

Note: If the questor dies and the Anvil of Sarek is killed, the questor can resurrect back and still receive the pop-up needed to advance the quest.

Step 6: Collect Two Earthen Dryad Hearts

Arios the Battered sends you to collect two hearts from Earthen Dryad mobs.

Earthen Dryad mobs spawn near the constructs in the northern half of Geomancer's Citadel.

Defeat Earthen Dryad mobs until you have two hearts, then return to Arios the Battered.

Step 7: Defeat the Sarek Keeper

Arios the Battered sends you to defeat the Sarek Keeper.

The Sarek Keeper spawns on the bridge in Geomancer's Citadel, at the construct gate between the two normal camp spots.

Defeat the Sarek Keeper and loot the Geode Talisman.

Use the Geode Talisman to combine it with the fused dryad hearts, then return to Arios the Battered.

Step 8: Collect the Archon Hearts

Arios the Battered sends you to collect two archon hearts.

The required enemies are:

• Archon Aereth
• Archon Vetash

Both archons spawn in the towers near the constructs in Geomancer's Citadel.

Defeat Archon Aereth and Archon Vetash, loot their hearts, and combine them with the geode.

Return to Arios the Battered with the updated geode.

Step 9: Defeat Thornmage Lirial

Arios the Battered sends you to defeat Thornmage Lirial.

Thornmage Lirial spawns on the main floor of Toxxulia's Lair in South Toxxulia (S).

He has several possible spawn locations:

• The main chamber where the tunnels branch off.
• Down the first tunnel to the left.
• Down the second tunnel to the left.

Defeat Thornmage Lirial, loot the Channeling Stone, and return to Arios the Battered.

Step 10: Receive the Activated Geode Talisman

Arios the Battered gives you an activated Geode Talisman with 36 charges.

The talisman can be used to port you and your group to the tower where the quest-spawned Sarek the Betrayer is located in Geomancer's Citadel (N).

Important: The questor should port last. Sarek the Betrayer spawns when the player with the quest ports into the tower.

Step 11: Defeat Sarek the Betrayer

Use the activated Geode Talisman to reach the tower in Geomancer's Citadel (N).

This is the quest-spawned version of Sarek the Betrayer, located in a different tower than the random spawn version.

This version is easier and can be defeated by one group of level 60 players.

Defeat Sarek the Betrayer.

After he dies, Archon Seradesh spawns.

Speak with Archon Seradesh, then return to Arios the Battered.

Note: The only way out of this tower is to return home.

Step 12: Receive Zaoran Brotherhood Faction

Return to Arios the Battered.

Speaking with him grants 1,000 faction with the Zaoran Brotherhood.

Before leaving, speak with Arios the Battered again to receive another 1,000 faction with the Zaoran Brotherhood.

Arios the Battered then sends you to speak with Arcanablade Zerin.

Step 13: Speak with Arcanablade Zerin

Arcanablade Zerin can be found on a cyclopian bridge south of Urglunt's Wall in Urglunt's Gate (C).

Speak with Arcanablade Zerin.

Speaking with him costs 1,000 faction with the Zaoran Brotherhood.

After the dialogue, you must defeat him.

Step 14: Defeat Arcanablade Zerin

Defeat Arcanablade Zerin and loot his head.

Resistances are recommended, as Arcanablade Zerin can be difficult without them.

Return to Arios the Battered with Arcanablade Zerin's head.

Step 15: Speak with the Rallosian Arbiter

When you return to Arios the Battered and speak with him, he ports you to a secret location.

There, speak with the Rallosian Arbiter.

The Rallosian Arbiter summons Arios the Battered for you to fight.

Step 16: Defeat Arios the Battered

Defeat Arios the Battered.

He cons yellow at level 60 and fights like a caster. He can be soloed by a prepared player.

After defeating him, speak with the Rallosian Arbiter again to complete the quest.

Completing the quest rewards 100,000,000 XP, a class-specific item, and the Token of Rathe.

Your Zaoran Brotherhood faction is adjusted again by -10.

Lore

Arios the Battered claims to be an old Rallosian general and a follower of Rallos Zek, the God of War.

He seeks to correct the betrayal of Sarek the Betrayer, once a head general of the Rallosian armies. Through a pact involving several gods, including the Rathe Council, Sarek the Betrayer betrayed his troops in exchange for immortality and demigodhood.

Some of his troops were sent to Envar to die, while others were transformed into constructs of fire and earth through geomancy.

Sarek the Betrayer was a geomancer by practice, but a rogue in character. After stealing many treasures from the gods, he was stripped of his demigodhood and imprisoned within Geomancer's Citadel, a fortress of living stone.

Across the Arios questline, players weaken Sarek the Betrayer by removing his sources of power before finally defeating him.

After Sarek the Betrayer is defeated, Arios the Battered sends players to Arcanablade Zerin, who is revealed to be part of an order of highly trained knights tied to the Zaoran Brotherhood. Arcanablade Zerin attempts to kill the player because they know too much.

When the player returns, Arios the Battered reveals his deeper connection to the Zaoran order and sends the player before the Rallosian Arbiter, who resolves the matter by ordering the player to defeat Arios the Battered.

Notes

• Arios the Battered 57 must be completed before this quest can be started.
• Keep the repaired weapon from Arios the Battered 55, as it is used to debuff the Anvil of Sarek.
• Make sure key items are in your inventory and not in your bank when seeking pop-ups or quest NPCs.
• Informant Liarah despawns quickly, so complete her dialogue fast.
• The three lost pages can be farmed before returning to Arios the Battered.
• Steps involving Earthen Dryad, Sarek Keeper, Archon Aereth, Archon Vetash, and Thornmage Lirial can be pre-farmed.
• The questor should use the activated Geode Talisman last when porting to Sarek the Betrayer.
• The quest-spawned Sarek the Betrayer is different from the random spawn version.
• Arcanablade Zerin costs Zaoran Brotherhood faction when spoken to.
• The final encounter with Arios the Battered occurs in a secret location after speaking with the Rallosian Arbiter.
