Walkthrough

This is the Shadowknight Exemplar quest. Players are tested through corruption, cruelty, and the breaking of faith before choosing between the path of Soultap or the path of Soul Cleave.

Important: Players may only choose one path. Once a path is chosen, the decision cannot be undone.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Speak with Priest of Bertoxxulous

Speak with Priest of Bertoxxulous in Freeport to begin the quest.

The Priest of Bertoxxulous sends you to speak with Urglauh the Foul in Trial's End.

Step 2: Speak with Urglauh the Foul

Travel to Trial's End and speak with Urglauh the Foul.

Urglauh the Foul sends you to Jared's Blight to kill villagers and collect soul energy.

Step 3: Collect Soul Energy

Kill villagers in Jared's Blight and collect the following quest items:

• Soul Energy x5

After collecting five Soul Energy items, return to Urglauh the Foul.

Step 4: Return to Urglauh the Foul

Return to Urglauh the Foul with the five Soul Energy items.

After the turn-in, Urglauh the Foul sends you back to the Priest of Bertoxxulous.

Step 5: Return to Priest of Bertoxxulous

Return to Priest of Bertoxxulous in Freeport.

He sends you to speak with Miasma Malignus for the next part of the quest.

Step 6: Speak with Miasma Malignus

Speak with Miasma Malignus.

Miasma Malignus asks you to convince pilgrims to surrender their walking sticks.

Step 7: Collect Walking Sticks

Find pilgrims and collect the following quest items:

• Walking Stick x5

After collecting five Walking Stick items, return to Miasma Malignus.

Step 8: Return to Miasma Malignus

Return to Miasma Malignus with the five Walking Stick items.

After the turn-in, Miasma Malignus sends you back to the Priest of Bertoxxulous.

Step 9: Choose Your Path

Return to Priest of Bertoxxulous in Freeport.

At this point, you must choose one of two paths:

• Soultap
• Soul Cleave

Important: This choice is permanent and cannot be undone.

Path One: Soultap

Step 10A: Choose Soultap

Choose the Soultap path.

The Priest of Bertoxxulous sends you back to Miasma Malignus.

Step 11A: Speak with Miasma Malignus

Speak with Miasma Malignus.

She asks you to gather sorrow and offer it to the Blasphemous Box.

Step 12A: Earn Profane of Bertoxxulous Faction

Turn in the required items at the Blasphemous Box.

Faction gain:

• 4 items = 40 faction with The Profane of Bertoxxulous

Continue turn-ins until you reach 2,000 faction with The Profane of Bertoxxulous.

Step 13A: Return to Miasma Malignus

After reaching 2,000 faction with The Profane of Bertoxxulous, return to Miasma Malignus.

She sends you back to the Priest of Bertoxxulous.

Step 14A: Claim the Soultap Reward

Return to Priest of Bertoxxulous.

Completing the Soultap path unlocks the Soultap reward through a Class Master.

Path Two: Soul Cleave

Step 10B: Choose Soul Cleave

Choose the Soul Cleave path.

The Priest of Bertoxxulous sends you back to Urglauh the Foul.

Step 11B: Speak with Urglauh the Foul

Speak with Urglauh the Foul.

He asks you to gather remains and feed them to the Zombie beside him.

Step 12B: Earn Corrupted of Bertoxxulous Faction

Turn in the required items at the Zombie.

Faction gain:

• 4 items = 40 faction with The Corrupted of Bertoxxulous

Continue turn-ins until you reach 2,000 faction with The Corrupted of Bertoxxulous.

Step 13B: Return to Urglauh the Foul

After reaching 2,000 faction with The Corrupted of Bertoxxulous, return to Urglauh the Foul.

He sends you back to the Priest of Bertoxxulous.

Step 14B: Claim the Soul Cleave Reward

Return to Priest of Bertoxxulous.

Completing the Soul Cleave path unlocks the Soul Cleave reward through a Class Master.

Notes

• This quest is only available to Shadowknight players.
• Players must choose either the Soultap path or the Soul Cleave path.
• Once chosen, the path cannot be changed.
• The Soultap path requires 2,000 faction with The Profane of Bertoxxulous.
• The Soul Cleave path requires 2,000 faction with The Corrupted of Bertoxxulous.
