Walkthrough
This is the level 30 Lion Were quest that begins with Burgomaster Delvin in Sondereel Village. Players must first escort Lionell Redrick through the Salt Mines, defeat Herman Forrestor, then work with Corindas to progress the lion were infection and tail portion of the quest.
Walkthrough
Step 1: Speak with Burgomaster Delvin
Speak with Burgomaster Delvin in Sondereel Village, located in Forkwatch (E) near the river.
Burgomaster Delvin asks you to escort Lionell Redrick safely through the Salt Mines.
Step 2: Find Lionell Redrick
Travel to the Salt Mines (W).
Enter the mine and descend the spiraling stairwell.
Lionell Redrick is located in the first adjacent room.
Speak with Lionell Redrick to begin the escort.
Step 3: Escort Lionell Redrick
After speaking with Lionell Redrick, he begins walking up the stairwell.
When he reaches the top, the questor should receive a pop-up.
Important: There have been issues where other players with the quest logged accidentally receive the update. Any other players on this step should stay back until the correct player receives the pop-up.
Step 4: Defend Lionell Redrick at the Mine Entrance
When Lionell Redrick reaches the main entrance, three enemies spawn and attack him.
The level of these enemies depends on the level of the player who triggered the quest.
The ambush includes:
- One necromancer-type enemy
- Two melee enemies
Defeat the necromancer first, then finish the melee enemies.
After the enemies are defeated, Lionell Redrick continues moving.
Step 5: Defend Lionell Redrick in the Courtyard
Continue escorting Lionell Redrick until he reaches the courtyard.
He is ambushed again by the same types of enemies.
Defeat the attackers and continue escorting him to the tree.
Step 6: Complete the Escort
Once Lionell Redrick reaches the tree, the player who triggered him should speak with him.
This updates the quest log.
Return to Burgomaster Delvin in Sondereel Village.
Step 7: Speak with Herman Forrestor
After returning to Burgomaster Delvin, travel north from Gerntar's Mine into Kelinar (SW).
Find Herman Forrestor just outside the main city in a small tent.
Speak with Herman Forrestor, then quickly back away to avoid aggroing the enemies as they spawn.
Step 8: Defeat Herman Forrestor
After speaking with Herman Forrestor, three hunters spawn to assist him.
The three hunters con dark blue to the player who triggered the quest, while Herman Forrestor cons white.
Engage each enemy carefully and defeat them one at a time.
Make sure the player with the quest logged is grouped when Herman Forrestor is defeated.
After Herman Forrestor dies, the quest log should update.
Return to Burgomaster Delvin and collect your reward.
Lion Were Tail Quest
Step 9: Speak with Corindas
After completing the first portion of the quest, speak with Corindas in Sondereel Village, Forkwatch (E), to begin the tail quest.
If your faction is not high enough to log the quest, you must raise your Villagers of Sonderal faction first.
Required faction:
- 150 faction with Villagers of Sonderal to log the tail quest
- 1,000 faction with Sunmanes to complete the quest
Step 10: Raise Were Lion Faction
Travel to Centaur Valley, just up the river from Blackwater.
There is a small valley with many were lions.
Kill these were lions to raise faction with both:
These were lions do not infect you, but they are useful for raising the required faction.
Step 11: Become Infected
To become infected, kill were lions that con yellow to you.
Yellow-con were enemies give the best chance of infection.
If you are only farming faction and are already infected, it is easier to hunt lower-level were enemies.
Note: Having a high-level player, such as a level 60, help kill the were enemies does not appear to prevent infection. Players can still become infected while grouped or following a higher-level character.
Step 12: Check for Infection
You will know you are infected when you approach Corindas and receive a pop-up indicating that he urgently needs to speak with you.
You can also check infection status in Oasis near the campfire by the water.
The infection-check NPCs are:
- Advisor Gerahl checks for general were infection.
- Advisor Sanne checks specifically for lion infection.
Step 13: Hunt Jensen
After receiving the lion infection pop-up, return to Corindas.
If you have the required faction, Corindas sends you to hunt down Jensen in South Crossroads (N).

Notes
- The quest begins with Burgomaster Delvin in Sondereel Village, Forkwatch (E), near the river.
- Corindas handles the lion were tail portion of the quest.
- During the Lionell Redrick escort, other players with the quest logged should stay back to avoid taking the wrong pop-up.
- The ambush enemies during the escort scale based on the player who triggered the quest.
- During the Herman Forrestor fight, the questor should be grouped when Herman Forrestor dies.
- Villagers of Sonderal faction is required to log the tail quest.
- Sunmanes faction is required to complete the lion were quest.
- Yellow-con were enemies give the best chance of infection.
- Advisor Gerahl and Advisor Sanne in Oasis can be used to check infection status.
