Part 1: The Sirens

Begin the quest by speaking with the Siren on the Isle of Dread.

Siren: The waters stir with hunger… can you not feel it? Beneath the waves lurks a beast with teeth like jagged cliffs. Few dare to look upon him, fewer still return.

Player: Tell me of this beast.

Siren: They call him Megaladon. His jaws crack ships, his shadow swallows the sea. If you seek courage, find him in the deep. Strike him down, if you can.

Player: I will face him.

After speaking with the sirens, travel into the surrounding waters and locate Megaladon. Defeat Megaladon to continue the quest.

Quest Log: The sirens spoke of a great beast called Megaladon that lurks beneath the waves. Find and slay him.

Part 2: Megaladon's Death

After Megaladon has been defeated, return to the Siren.

Siren: So… the hunter was slain by the hunted. The beast’s blood stains the tide. Perhaps you are worthy of more than drowning here. Head to the village… the Citizens of Graumord will know your fate.

Player: Where is this village?

Siren: Follow the path towards the docks. They wait for one bold enough to draw Cazic-Thule’s gaze.

The sirens direct you toward the village near the docks. Travel there and seek out the Citizens of Graumord.

Quest Log: You have slain Megaladon. Return to the sirens. They have directed you to seek out the Citizens of Graumord, who may hold the key to breaking the Faceless’ grip.

Part 3: The Citizens of Graumord

Speak with Elder Graumord in the village.

Elder Graumord: So, the whispers were true. You slew the sea-beast. Perhaps you are the one who can unbind us. We are not natives of this isle — we are prisoners. The sea beast was just one of the machinations that keep us here.

Elder Graumord: Long ago we too came to this island seeking refuge from the coming storm. Little did we know our fates were sealed upon landing on the shore and a new nightmare awaited us.

Player: What binds you here?

Elder Graumord: The sirens. By day they sing sweetly, but when night falls, they turn to monsters — jailers of our souls. They carry a cursed lantern. With it, we may pierce the darkness that chains us here.

Player: Then I will take it from them.

The elder reveals that the sirens are part of the curse binding the citizens to the island. Wait until nightfall, then defeat the sirens and recover the Cursed Lantern.

Quest Log: The citizens revealed the sirens’ curse and the lantern they carry. Defeat the sirens at night and recover the lantern.

Part 4: Nightmare

Return to Elder Graumord with the Cursed Lantern.

Elder Graumord: The lantern! At last, the curse falters. With its light, we may see a path beyond the Faceless’ grasp. But know this — Cazic-Thule will not let us go easily.

Player: What must I do?

Elder Graumord: The Nightmare roams this isle — his will given flesh. He is the shadow upon our hearts, the terror in our sleep. Only by slaying him will we be free.

Player: How do I find him?

Elder Graumord: Take the lantern and travel further into the island. The lantern is capable of piercing the veil that shrouds the island. With it you will be able to find him.

Player: How do I kill him?

Elder Graumord: Long ago, one of us defied him. That rebel left behind a weapon, forged to pierce the Faceless’ spawn. Take it now, and hunt the Nightmare. End this prison.

Player: I will find and destroy him.

The elder gives you a weapon created to harm the spawn of the Faceless. Take the weapon and travel deeper into the Isle of Dread. Use the Cursed Lantern to pierce the veil hiding Nightmare (IoD). Locate Nightmare (IoD) and defeat him.

Quest Log: The Elder has given you a weapon forged to pierce the Faceless’ spawn. Nightmare (IoD) roams the island — find him, destroy him, and free the Citizens of Graumord.

Part 5: Return to the Elder

After Nightmare (IoD) has been defeated, return to Elder Graumord.

Elder Graumord: Then it is done… after all these years, the Faceless’ shadow is broken. At last, we may leave this cursed place.

Player: The Nightmare is no more.

As the elder speaks, another Citizen of Graumord runs forward.

Citizen of Graumord: Free! We are free at last! I can see the docks… I can see home!

The citizen begins walking toward the docks, but a dark figure suddenly appears. A Worshipper of Cazic-Thule materializes and strikes the citizen down.

Worshipper of Cazic-Thule: None escape the Faceless. This isle is his prison, and you are his prisoners still.

Elder Graumord: Do you see now? We are bound tighter than chains. Even in victory, Fear finds us. You have done all you could, but the truth remains… we are cursed to stay.

Player: Then it was for nothing?

Elder Graumord: Not for nothing. You have given us hope — even if hope is a fleeting thing. For that, we thank you. But remember this: no one truly leaves the grasp of Cazic-Thule.

Speak with Elder Graumord one final time to complete the quest.
