Walkthrough
This is the level 23 side quest for players in Hodstock and Temby. The first part rewards a class ability, while the later parts continue the story for additional experience and item rewards.
Part One: Ability Quest
Step 1: Speak with Feria Huckert
Speak with Feria Huckert in Hodstock and Temby to begin the quest.
To reach Hodstock and Temby from Freeport, leave through the north gate and travel north to Hodstock and Temby (W).
Feria Huckert sends you to speak with Bram D'Lizo.
Step 2: Find Bram D'Lizo
Coach to Fayspires. From the Fayspires coach, travel north and swim across the lake.
Look for a dock, tower, and fort area along the northern shore. From the fort, travel west to reach the Gypsy Camp. Bram D'Lizo can be found there.
Speak with Bram D'Lizo and pay him 1,200 Tunar.
Step 3: Defeat the Redheaded Bandit
After receiving payment, Bram D'Lizo sends you to defeat the Redheaded Bandit.
The Redheaded Bandit roams near the fort and cons yellow to red at level 23.
Defeat the Redheaded Bandit, loot the required item, and return to Feria Huckert in Hodstock and Temby.
Step 4: Speak with Drew
After returning to Feria Huckert, she sends you to speak with her daughter, Drew.
Speak with Drew to complete Part One of the quest and receive experience, an item reward, and your new ability.
Part Two
Note: Part Two is optional. It does not reward a new ability, but does provide additional experience and an item reward.
Before beginning Part Two, players must have positive faction with Feria Huckert. This can be earned by defeating Cracktooth Orc mobs near Bobble-by-Water.
From the Bobble-by-Water coach, travel south and southeast over the mountains to find the Cracktooth Orc mobs. Continue killing them until your faction with Feria Huckert reaches +150.
Step 5: Speak with Feria Huckert Again
Return to Feria Huckert in Hodstock and Temby after gaining the required faction.
She sends you to Freeport to purchase a Runic Recording from Merchant Yulia.
Step 6: Purchase the Runic Recording
Travel to Freeport and find Merchant Yulia.
From the main hall in Freeport, enter the second western door. Merchant Yulia can be found near the ramps leading to the Academy of Arcane Sciences guild.
Purchase the Runic Recording from Merchant Yulia for 1,200 Tunar.
Step 7: Return to Bram D'Lizo
Return to Bram D'Lizo at the Gypsy Camp near Fayspires.
After speaking with him, he directs you to visit the statue with the glowing shield.
Step 8: Find the Glowing Shield Statue
From the bandit fort, travel north until you reach the statue with the glowing shield.
Approach the statue to trigger the next part of the quest.
Step 9: Defeat Iceflesh Zombies
The statue directs you to Greyvax's Caves to defeat Iceflesh Zombie mobs.
To reach Greyvax's Caves, travel northwest from the statue.
Iceflesh Zombie mobs spawn and roam around the cave structure. Defeat them until you obtain the Tribal Pendant.
Return to Feria Huckert in Hodstock and Temby with the Tribal Pendant to receive your reward for Part Two.
Part Three
Step 10: Speak with Feria Huckert
After completing Part Two, speak with Feria Huckert again.
She sends you to speak with a guard named Smitty in Freeport.
Step 11: Find Smitty in Freeport
Travel to Freeport.
From the main hall, enter the second western door. Continue past the Academy of Arcane Sciences guild and through the next western door.
Smitty can be found guarding a door to a building.
Speak with Smitty and pay him 1,200 Tunar.
Step 12: Speak with Bison
Smitty sends you to speak with Bison in the FreezeBlood Village (NW) region.
From Halas, travel southwest for a short distance and look for caves in the side of the mountain range.
Find Bison and speak with him. He tells you more about Greyvax and sends you back to Feria Huckert.
Step 13: Return to Feria Huckert
Return to Feria Huckert in Hodstock and Temby.
She asks you to recover the remains of Manger MacGray from Greyvax's Caves.
Step 14: Recover the Remains of Manger MacGray
Return to Greyvax's Caves and enter the cave.
Locate the room containing the Ice Statue. Speak with the statue and choose whether to release or not release it.
After interacting with the statue, you receive an Ice Key.
Use the Ice Key to open the ice chest in the same room and receive the final quest reward.
Notes
- Part One grants the class ability reward.
- Parts Two and Three are optional follow-up sections for additional rewards.
- Part Two requires +150 faction with Feria Huckert.
- Cracktooth Orc mobs near Bobble-by-Water can be killed to raise faction.
- The rats surrounding the Ice Statue in Greyvax's Caves can be difficult for solo players.
