Queen Qy'tha Portal Quest

Reward

Sthlumchoxius Chitin grants access to the Queen Qy'tha Hive.
Returning Queen Qy'tha's Stinger to Witchdoctor Muglchlur rewards a Bonescepter used to spawn Bertoxxulous when his throne is active.

Walkthrough

This quest grants access to the Queen Qy'tha Hive within the Plane of Disease. Players must investigate the lake, trigger and defeat Sthlumchoxius, receive Sthlumchoxius Chitin, enter the hive, defeat Queen Qy'tha, and return her stinger to Witchdoctor Muglchlur.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Speak with Witchdoctor Muglchlur

After entering the Plane of Disease, locate Witchdoctor Muglchlur near the port-in area.

Speak with Witchdoctor Muglchlur to begin the quest. He asks you to recover Queen Qy'tha's Stinger.

Step 2: Speak with the Whirling Portal

Travel to the lake near Witchdoctor Muglchlur.

In the center of the lake is the Whirling Portal. Clear the nearby enemies around the lake, then speak with the Whirling Portal to advance the quest.

Step 3: Speak with Bonefisher Chklurgl

After speaking with the Whirling Portal, travel to the north side of the lake.

Find Bonefisher Chklurgl inside the tent and speak with him to continue the quest.

Bonefisher Chklurgl explains that something in the lake is killing the puslings and sends you to investigate.

Step 4: Inspect the Mud

This step requires a player with the quest active to swim over the Whirling Portal on the surface of the water.

When positioned correctly, a pop-up will appear asking if you want to inspect the mud. Choose the option to inspect it.

Doing so spawns four Filth Squid mobs. These enemies root and will immediately attack the player who triggered the event.

The triggering player may need to retreat back to shore while the group assists with the spawned enemies. The Filth Squid mobs can be single-pulled with a low-level Necromancer life tap.

Step 5: Wait for Sthlumchoxius

After the Filth Squid event has been triggered, Sthlumchoxius will spawn after roughly 10 minutes.

While waiting for Sthlumchoxius to spawn, clear the enemies around the Whirling Portal area.

Sthlumchoxius cons red to level 60 and can be single-pulled if the surrounding enemies have not been cleared. A strong group with a tank and healer can defeat him if properly prepared.

Step 6: Defeat Sthlumchoxius

Defeat Sthlumchoxius to receive the quest flag.

Important: Only the kill-credit group receives the flag for defeating Sthlumchoxius. Everyone who needs the flag should be grouped together before the kill. Players who do not need credit should remain outside the kill-credit group.

Everyone in the kill-credit group must be on the quest step where Bonefisher Chklurgl has instructed them to kill whatever is in the lake. Players who are not on this step will not receive credit.

If the flag is received, the quest log will update and direct players to return to Bonefisher Chklurgl.

Step 7: Return to Bonefisher Chklurgl

After receiving credit for Sthlumchoxius, return to Bonefisher Chklurgl on the north side of the lake.

Speak with him to receive experience and Sthlumchoxius Chitin.

Sthlumchoxius Chitin allows the player to use the Whirling Portal to enter the Queen Qy'tha hive. Keep this item in your inventory whenever you want to enter the hive in the future.

Important: Sthlumchoxius Chitin must be in your inventory, not your bank, when using the portal.

Step 8: Enter the Queen Qy'tha Hive

Return to the Whirling Portal with Sthlumchoxius Chitin in your inventory.

Speak with the portal to enter the Queen Qy'tha hive.

Warning: Players may port directly into hostile enemies such as a Tormented Cadis, or possibly near Queen Qy'tha herself. Make sure everyone is ready before entering.

Once inside, move south to a safer location before beginning the next part of the quest.

Step 9: Farm Tormented Cadis

Inside the hive, defeat a Tormented Cadis mobs until Queen Qy'tha spawns.

Looting the corpses may help the respawns occur more quickly.

The queen may spawn after roughly 30 minutes of farming, though she can appear sooner with good luck.

Step 10: Defeat Queen Qy'tha

When Queen Qy'tha spawns, engage and defeat her.

Queen Qy'tha has an area-of-effect attack, so the group should be properly shielded and prepared before the fight.

After Queen Qy'tha is defeated, loot Queen Qy'tha's Stinger.

Only one stinger drops per kill.

Step 11: Return to Witchdoctor Muglchlur

Return to Witchdoctor Muglchlur with Queen Qy'tha's Stinger.

Turn in the stinger to complete the quest. Witchdoctor Muglchlur rewards you with Bonescepter used to spawn Bertoxxulous when his throne is active.
