This is the level 55 quest for players in Lavastorm Mountains. Minastikie sends players to Professor Ceryk, leading into a long search involving The Hunt, Quintashi's Lair, Solusek's Eye, and several dangerous creatures.
Walkthrough
Step 1: Speak with Minastikie
Speak with Minastikie in Lavastorm Mountains (SE) to begin the quest.
Minastikie can be found in the Lavastorm Mountains (SE).
She instructs you to speak with Professor Ceryk in Mila's Reef (N).
Step 2: Speak with Professor Ceryk
Travel to Mila's Reef (N) and speak with Professor Ceryk.
Professor Ceryk sends you to speak with Chief Terrican in The Hunt (NW).
Step 3: Speak with Chief Terrican
Travel to The Hunt (NW) and speak with Chief Terrican.
He asks you to return with a horn from a Monstrous Rhino.
Step 4: Defeat the Monstrous Rhino
The Monstrous Rhino can be found in The Hunt (C).
The Monstrous Rhino is similar to a raging rhino and is stronger than its con suggests. Even a strong group may find this enemy challenging.
Defeat the Monstrous Rhino, loot the horn, and return to Chief Terrican.
Chief Terrican sends you back to Professor Ceryk in Mila's Reef.
Step 5: Travel to Quintashi's Lair
After speaking with Professor Ceryk, he sends you to Quintashi's Lair in Abysmal Sea (NW).
The entrance to the underwater cavern can be found in Abysmal Sea (W).
Important: Bring level 51 Alchemist breathing potions or a Bard with hold-breath spells before entering.
Step 6: Enter the Underwater Room
Once inside Quintashi's Lair, make your way to the large above-water room.
At the back of this room, find the tunnel with a pop-up. Accept the pop-up to be teleported into an underwater room.
Swim along the floor toward the tall tower.
Near a large seashell, you will receive another pop-up warning that you are being ambushed.
This spawns several Dark Ritualist Scout mobs.
Step 7: Defeat the Dark Ritualist Scout
After the ambush pop-up, defeat the yellow-con Dark Ritualist Scout.
The scouts are far enough apart that they can usually be pulled separately. If you are invisible, they may not immediately attack.
Defeat the required Dark Ritualist Scout, loot the quest item, and return to Professor Ceryk in Mila's Reef.
Step 8: Speak with Exploring Aid Mixxa
Professor Ceryk sends you to Exploring Aid Mixxa in Klick'Anon.
Speak with Exploring Aid Mixxa. The aid sends you back to Minastikie in Lavastorm Mountains.
Step 9: Defeat the Fire Goblin General
After returning to Minastikie, she sends you to defeat the Fire Goblin General.
The Fire Goblin General is spawned by a pop-up inside the citadel in Lavastorm Mountains (N).
Trigger the pop-up, defeat the Fire Goblin General, loot the required item, and return to Minastikie.
Step 10: Search for the Four Supplies
Minastikie sends you back into Lavastorm Mountains and Solusek's Eye to locate four random pop-ups.
Each pop-up gives one required item.
Search the following areas:
- Lavastorm Mountains (S) or Lavastorm Mountains (SE) for the compass.
- Lavastorm Mountains (N) for the blanket.
- Solusek's Eye (S) or Lavastorm Mountains (SW) for the rations.
- Solusek's Eye (N) for the gyropick.
After collecting all four items, return to Minastikie.
Step 11: Return to Professor Ceryk
Minastikie sends you back to Professor Ceryk.
When you arrive, you discover that Professor Ceryk has been poisoned and his map has been stolen.
You are instructed to speak with Merchant Dwindel in Hagley for a possible cure.
Step 12: Speak with Merchant Dwindel
Travel to Hagley and speak with Merchant Dwindel.
Merchant Dwindel asks for 12,000 Tunar and requires items from two creatures:
Step 13: Defeat the Paradise Basilisk
The Paradise Basilisk can be found roaming in Sylhilthis' Dwell (C), Sylhilthis' Dwell (W), or Sylhilthis' Dwell (NW).
This is a difficult enemy and requires group assistance.
Defeat the Paradise Basilisk and loot the required item.
Step 14: Collect Abrosian Snapper Scales
Merchant Dwindel also requires three scales from Abrosian Snapper mobs.
Abrosian Snapper mobs can be found along the coast in The Warrens (S) and The Warrens (C).
Defeat Abrosian Snapper mobs until you have three scales.
Step 15: Return to Merchant Dwindel
Return to Merchant Dwindel in Hagley with the required items and 12,000 Tunar.
Speak with him to receive the cure.
Merchant Dwindel sends you back to Professor Ceryk.
Step 16: Return to Professor Ceryk
Return to Professor Ceryk in Mila's Reef.
Speak with him to complete the quest and receive your reward.
Notes
- The Monstrous Rhino is stronger than its con suggests and can be very difficult.
- Bring water-breathing support before entering Quintashi's Lair.
- The Dark Ritualist Scout ambush can be easier if players remain invisible.
- The four supply items come from random pop-ups across Lavastorm Mountains and Solusek's Eye.
- Professor Ceryk is poisoned near the end of the quest, sending players to Merchant Dwindel for a cure.
- The Paradise Basilisk is difficult and group assistance is recommended.
- Merchant Dwindel requires 12,000 Tunar.
- Three Abrosian Snapper scales are required.
